My Top Ten Podcasts

My Top Ten Podcasts

Episode 28

In this mini-episode to cover me over the seasonal period, I go through the top ten podcasts that I listen to. I listen to lots of podcast, at last count I’ve listened to 50 shows on or off in the last year.

Here I attempt to compile my current top 10. Note that I’ve excluded self-publishing podcasts (I’ve already done a show on these) and shows where the episodes have just mysteriously stopped, as opposed to a pre-scheduled season break.

So here goes, in no particular order.

Internet Business Mastery – A good show about teaching internet and online business.

Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History – These are 2 or 3 hour long shows about history, sometimes running in very long series.  Almost audio-books.   If you have any interest in history then well worth listening to.  If you have time…

ProBlogger Podcast – A terrific show by Darren Rowse, who is a leading blogger, telling you how to construct a great blog.  I find it useful if you have a podcast as well.

Happier with Gretchen Rubin – Your guide on how to make yourself happier by changing your habits and identifying what kind of person you are – an obliger, a questioner, a rebel or an upholder and the dos and dont’s for your character type.

PNR: This Old Marketing – A great show about content marketing, the allegedly new fad which as they point out is as old as the hills.

Doctor Who: Verity! – For Dr Who fans.

Social Media Marketing Podcast –  Keep up to date on the latest in Social Media if you want to use it for marketing.

The Skeptics Guide to the Universe – A show where a load of guys from a more scientific background debunk pseudo-science and talk about the latest developments in science.

Mystery Show – Every week they investigate a fairly interesting real-life mystery and try and solve it.  On a season break at the moment.

The Web Search Social Podcast – A show mostly about business and marketing, soon to be rebranded.   Ralph and Carol Lyn Rivera are usually extremely amusing as informative.

So that is it – a rag-tag mix of business and non-business podcasts, none about self-publishing.   But hopefully some appeal to you guys!

That is my Top Ten list – are there shows you think should be on there?  If so let me know in the comments below.

If you are looking for other self-publishing podcasts I did a show on that in Episode 8.  If you want a general introduction to Self-Publishing then I covered that in Episode 2 : How to Self-Publish an eBook and Episode 4 : Creating a Paperback Book via Createspace.

Have a happy Christmas!
