Self-Publishing is Easy

In this first episode I start off with the slightly provocative statement:

Self-Publishing is Easy

Of course, what many people describe as Self-Publishing is not in any way easy.  Writing a book is not easy – it is a lot of work.  Marketing a book is not easy.  But in my mind neither of these is the essence of Self-Publishing.

This podcast will primarily be based on looking at the core activities needed to self-publish a work.  We won’t be talking (at least at the beginning) about how to write a book or how to market one.  Both of them need to be done however a book is published.  Most major publishers know how to market a book to print book-distributors, but not to readers, so however your book is published you will still need to do marketing to readers.

The book that inspired me to start my self-publishing journey was Write, Publish, Repeat by Sean Platt, Johnny B Truant and David Wright of the Self-Publishing Podcast.

In 2014 I self-published 3 time travel novellas, Timeshock: I Want My Life BackTimeshock 2 : The Fourth Reich and Timeshock 3 : The Future Ark as eBooks.

In March 2015 I published my first short novel, Magpies and Magic. This is also available as a paperback book.
